I’ve been doing some artwork for a bar in Flint that will be called Cooper’s and will serve Michigan beer and American whiskey.

As part of the decor of their bar, they will be displaying custom whiskey barrel tops. I had the pleasure of painting their first one:

The barrel lid was pre-painted when I received it, and I put the gold (acrylic) on top. The barrel lid is 24″ in diameter, and the amount of time spent from concept to draft to final product was around five hours. The stenciling, painting, and detail work all took between three and four hours. I had a lot of fun doing it though…
