A Minotaur and His Oucasts

Here is a quick drawing that I did for some friends of mine to illustrate a few characters that they met in our campaign. The Minotaur ‘s name is Tug, and he is fleet of foot, strong of arm, and sharp of mind. If you trespass on his territory, his lookouts will call him and he will offer you a choice; beat him in a challenge and take the most direct route out of his territory, or lose and become his slave for a year and a day. If you deny his challenge, he will kill you.

The one on the left is a jungle troll, a powerful spellcasting druid (he is levitating if you can’t tell) and his personal council. The one on the left is an old rich and highly intelligent gnome, with lots of knowledge on various topics, and he acts as a secondary adviser. In addition to these two, Tug has twenty or so able-bodied fighting men at arms, humans, half-orcs, and half-elves who have been outcast, exiled, or have run from society. Do not cross them.

After serving him as a slave for a year and a day, if he likes you, he will give you the option to join his small tribe and if you accept he will offer you one of the small braids ending in a handmade bead and a lock of hair from his beard. If you receive one of these tokens, whether you are in his tribe or not, you can come and go as you please.

These characters took me just a few minutes to come up with. Sometimes I get character ideas that just pop into my head, complete with a back story, personality, and gear. For me, these are some of the most fun things to draw…
