I am going to make 365 pieces of artwork within a year. Maybe not all professional pieces; I’ll undoubtedly have some sketches, character studies, and light/color studies in there. But I’m sitting down at my desk 365 times.

For two years in a row now I’ve failed to accomplish the challenge I’d set out for myself,  but I am determined, and I’m attempting it again. Third time’s a charm right? Here we go…

    1. One, to hone my skills, and two, to build a portfolio.

I had heard a study awhile back (thanks dad) about an art professor who split his class into two groups. The first group would be graded based on the quality of the pieces of art they turned in, and the second group would be graded based on the quantity they turned in. Needless to say, in the beginning of course the second group turned in a lot of really bad artwork, but interestingly enough, by the end of the course, they were out-performing the first group.
